I'm open to tips of any kind to improve in the future, but I'm finished with this video. So I figured this would be how I introduced myself to the community. Yes it looks a tad weird at times, but I think I was able to decently transfer a lot of the complexity of the hair over to the destination without it appearing totally unnatural. I was happy with the result I got during this experiment though. After 2 days spent editing and I must say learning the editor I thought it was time to move on to trying to make the high quality video using cleaner footage and same source. I cut out any glitches the mask didn't get so it's a bit jumpy at times. My edits introduced some new problems, like darkness around the head, but the result was mostly stable. I used Davinci Resolve, and was able to clean the result a decent amount. I am no master at any of this, but am especially green on the editing side. After cleaning my data set of 30,000 down to 15,000, the results improved drastically.Īfter generating decent results in deepfacelab, I wanted to try the method I had seen for applying the mask and blending manually in video editing software. At first the results were horrendous, the hair and angle caused an endless glitch over the face the whole video. It took over a week to make something I thought was passible. It showed me the limits of the technique. But like I said I wanted something like that so I could use a more traditional video in the future with greater success with the same data set. On top of that she's laying at an angle where her face is often not in line with camera. Amadani has a very different facial structure than Billie, and her hair line was a few inches above where Billies started. The difficulty was in the face and positioning. I chose her because she had similar hair color as Billie at the time, and more importantly the correct body type. I was trying to challenge myself so I grabbed a pretty difficult destination video. I used this particular data set because I knew it would be difficult to extract the face without including all of her hair due it covering her face in a number of ways. So I made a large data set of recent images of Billie Eilish during a recent interview. Long time fan of the site, but wanted to practice before participating.Īfter I got decent doing traditional face replacement I wanted to try taking it up a notch.

![]() The Samsung Galaxy A8 is a cheap and cheerful option that exists for those who love Samsung's Android efforts but don't want to pony up for its more expensive tablets. Still, if a kickstand or micro HDMI are important to you then this is the Android tablet to get. ![]() What you don’t get – in another unusual move – is a rear camera, but then tablets are never ideal for taking photos anyway, and we also found the design made it hard to use with a case. Beyond that, you get a big 13-inch 1350 x 2160 screen, a moderately powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset, and a respectable amount of storage. The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 also has an enormous speaker by tablet standards, making it great for anything involving audio. While the slate works brilliantly as a conventional tablet, it also has a built-in stand, so you can prop it up without a case, and there’s a micro HDMI port, so you can easily use it as a second screen for a laptop or other device - two features which we found very useful. The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is a bit different to most tablets, and that helps it stand out. With a lovely screen, a powerful speaker dock, and quick updates, the Pixel Tablet certainly lives up to the hype. You're meant to see it as an entertainment device, whether you lean into Google's positioning of this as a smart home device, or you use it as a tablet. You'll get Android 14 the minute it's ready, the same will hold for Android 15 and 16 as well.ĭespite all that power and security, this tablet isn't meant for productivity, though. As with other Pixels, this tablet receives regular security updates and software updates from Google. The speaker dock has four speakers that produce rich, immersive sound when playing music or watching video. Even the cheaper Pixel 7a comes with a 90Hz display. It's worth noting that there's no 90 or 120Hz refresh rate, which is a shame. The screen is 11 inches (albeit IPS LCD and not OLED) and has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This processor provides plenty of power for even the most demanding tasks. The tablet is powered by Google's custom Tensor G2 chip that you'll find in the Pixel 7a, 7, and 7 Pro as well. It's a pleasure to use, as the company has built out a suite of apps that now work well with large-screen devices and tablets, including the Google Suite of apps, its entertainment apps like YouTube, Google Play apps, and more. Unfortunately, its biggest flaw is that it continues to feel like a real laptop without actually being one. Qualcomm's processor really put in the work here, and Samsung's OneUI software makes this feel like a real laptop with enhanced multitasking capabilities that you simply won't find on offerings from Apple or Google. In our review, we were very impressed with both the software and its performance. In other words, this really, really wants to convince you it can replace your laptop. It packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset with up to 16GB of RAM, and the storage goes up to 1TB. It integrates with both OnePlus and Oppo phones, ships with Android 13, has a sharp and bright LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a large battery, and 67W super-fast charging. Using the All-Stars as an example of modern jazz in the fifties, the frequently confusing jazz history narrative found in most textbooks can be reshaped, providing a more useful picture of the music during that decade.Īt the end of the 1940s, Charlie Parker (1920-1955) recorded a jazz album (Charlie Parker with strings, 1949) in which they would participate not only in the usual instrumental set of bebop, but also in orchestral instruments. They viewed their music as modern, just as their New York-based contemporaries did. Recent interviews with members of the All-Stars and articles appearing in both jazz and general interest periodicals during the fifties also indicate that the All-Stars were not playing in a different style. The recordings do not support the view that the All-Stars were playing an identifiable West Coast or Cool style that was different from an East Coast or Hard Bop style favored by players based in New York. The recordings contain a variety of modern or post-swing approaches to jazz improvisation, composition, and arranging similar to those found on recordings produced in New York.
